At Street Level. Talking to a guy from Indianapolis who
started reading my blog & wanted me to write some stuff on local newspaper etc.etc.
Right away that was a little good karma because that is the rode I'm on. Marc
Chase is boss now @The Times where he serves as editor and writes a weekly column.
Street called him up just to run something by him. Then just to make small talk
I mention to him about Quid pro quo with Mrvan and Pabeys daughter. The thing
that got me was Wolf Chase was kinda pissed at Mark Kiesling. Seem as though
Kiesling was coming to work at nine in the morning to The Times with Vodka on
his breath. Wolf Chase said he did his job and wrote him up and passed upstairs.
But nothing was ever done to hear Wolf Chase tell it and I let him blow. Then,
me mentions that Kiesling has a pretty good following and that is probably why
they let him come to work with vodka on his breath. And Kiesling would nail
some people to the cross in some of his columns.
At Street Level. Suddenly something told me to stay on The
Times and share some anecdotal stories about Wolf Chase. And Street was Kool
with him because we had history after we both were left at the altar on that
Gilbert Bonilla Story that was pulled at the 11thhour. Again, I called up Wolf
Chase just to see what was up and worked him if I could. Boom, here we go again.
Then he goes on about there are reporters in our office receiving gifts from politicians,
but he would not accept a gift. Street took mental notes. Then one day about
2months later attending a meeting at Hammond Public Library where I ran into a
K.B., a business writer for The Times. Street starts up a conversation as they chat.
Street pointed at his name tag. +The Times you guys get gifts over there. +Street
took his shot as I looked at him eyeball to eyeball. Not anymore,” he told me. This
was my Big 10-4 on what Wolf Chase told me. You heard stuff people who made
allegations about The Times, but these were staff writers K? Again, Street took
mental notes because this would have to be in the script.
