At
Street Level. The story about Jay Given precipitated me talking with a new
source who stumbled upon my blog. He cut to the chase about the mayor taking
thousands of dollars from a businessman in our neck of the woods. It was not a
lump sum but spread out over the years. Like $10,000 here & $20,000 here
etc., etc. When Street pressed him for his source, the middleman mentioned it
was an agent who got left @ the altar on this one, you feel me? Street was
taking mental notes & just let him blow. "The trippy part is one time
that businessman went to the mayor's house & seen agent inside the
house." Middleman did not stutter. My mind went back to the time, and
Street came up with "Hope with Cope" campaign slogan. The statute of
limitations has run out on this bribery case, but Street is keeping it 100.
P.S.
"Why didn't you bring this up when
he ran for Mayor the last time, Street?" Guy asked me. Rather do it in its
organic form.
